🎉🪅 Dollar-for-dollar challenge is LIVE! 🎉🪅

Well, this is exciting. One of our Foundation Board members is offering a dollar-for-dollar match (up to $7,000!) through Tuesday, November 11. This means your contribution will be doubled. $1 becomes $2. $25 becomes $50. $44 becomes $88. Just typing that is making my love of math double, too.

This is a huge opportunity for us to get closer to our $58,500 goal (we’re 6% there now, and could jump to 30% with this match). If we can raise $7,000 this week, we’ll actually raise $14,000. Whoa.

Here’s the impact your donation can make:

  • $25 provides one month of Teaching Fellow’s supplies

  • $50 allows a Fellow to extend their tutoring hours

  • $100 gives one Fellow an additional lesson shadowing opportunity

  • $200 starts to offset orientation and onboarding costs for one Fellow

  • $1,400 provides a community event led by Fellows: storytime, family literacy night or a local festival pop-up

Imagine that, doubled! (It’s way better than imagining a world without literacy.)

But to quote one of our faves from PBS, don’t take my word for it. Check out Fellow alum Ella Holton-McCoy’s perspective on how the Teaching Fellowship shaped her career:

Last note for this week: You can see the Teaching Fellows in action at Words in the Wild’s free webinar on November 6, Everyday Literacy from 5:30-6:30pm, hosted in partnership with Go Public Schools This interactive and engaging online event is designed to help families support their children’s reading and learning at home! You'll learn practical tips, free resources, and simple activities that make reading together enjoyable and effective. Spanish Interpretation will be provided for Alfabetización Familiar Cotidiana: Más allá de los libros.
